The month of June is a very special time for me, because it is the month in which I celebrate my birthday. I've been working with a group of African Americans and Jewish high school students who are visiting NYC from St. Louis, exchanging there culture with one and other by visiting places like The National Urban League, Ed Koch, National Action Network founded by Rev Al Sharpton (American Pentecostal minister and political, civil rights, and social justice activist), The Jewish Museum, Touring Harlem (where the writer Lanston Huges lived), The Studio Museum of Harlem, The Apollo Theater, The Schornberg Center, then the lower east side to The Tenement Museum and Katz's Deli. As I was walking through the streets of Harlem, I came upon my name engraved in the sidewalk. It seems to be a time for me, to be very greatful to be alive.
